Resolutions

Each year, I try and thrust a few resolutions upon my character, which, inevitably, I don't live up to. This year's lucky area for self-improvement--if it even qualifies at this point--is, no suprise, my work ethic. I'm trying to make writing a larger part of my everday life, and that is why I am starting up this blog.

If you've ever read my writing--and I'm pretty sure most of you haven't, you lucky bastards--you'll know that I'm a fan of disclosure. At least, that is my ideal. Not that I'm living up to it, as I've written a lot of crap lately. But here's the basic idea. I like writing that's revelatory, that's sharp, that pushes things toward imbalance, toward places where the author is uncomfortable. (If you're wincing at the loftiness of that last sentence, I've got your back--I'll work on keeping that in check, I swear. But, onward...) So with any luck, that is what this blog will be: a place where I can write down my revelatory thoughts, but in a form that's not just for me. I fully expect to offend some of you in the process, by insulting you, or at that very least by putting you in closer association with me, by allowing you to know me better. But maybe we'll be better freinds for it. Or, maybe not.

But hey, you can always skip the prose, and cut straight to the poker hands...
